Chennai: Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for his hit film ‘Animal’, shared a strongly worded post that appeared to call out an actor for allegedly leaking the script of his upcoming film, ‘Spirit’.

Though he didn’t name anyone in his post, online chatter points fingers at Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, who was recently replaced in the film by Triptii Dimri.

Taking to X , Vanga wrote, “When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, you’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person that you are…”

He continued, clearly upset, “Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft and for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn’t get it. You won’t get it. You will never get it.”

The filmmaker ended his post with a sharp remark, “Aisa karo... Agli baar poori kahani bolna… kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha. #dirtyPRgames” (Next time, tell the whole story… because it doesn’t make a difference to me.)

Deepika padukone replaced in ‘Spirit’

Vanga’s comments follow reports that Deepika Padukone had exited Spirit, which stars pan-Indian actor Prabhas in the lead. Interestingly, there was never an official confirmation that Deepika was involved in the project to begin with.

Just days before Vanga’s post, he officially introduced Triptii Dimri as the female lead in Spirit, sharing a poster featuring her name in nine languages.
