Was playing Sita a dream role or a divine opportunity? Sai Pallavi shares why she feels blessed to be part of ‘Ramayana’

Sai Pallavi opened up about her role of Goddess Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited ‘Ramayana’, calling the opportunity a blessing rather than a choice. At the special trailer screening event held at Bharat Mandapam on July 18, the actress spoke about the responsibility of portraying one of the most revered figures in Indian mythology.
Sharing how she approached the character, Sai revealed that she prepared herself through meditation and tried to connect with the role on a deeper level. “I don’t think I chose to play Sita maa. I was blessed to play this role,” she said, adding that portraying a Goddess is not something an actor can simply plan or create.
The actress explained that she would meditate and seek guidance, saying, “Sita maa, you act through me. Whatever comes through me is what you want for the film.” She also spoke about maintaining a sense of purity in her thoughts and staying grounded to bring the best version of herself to the character.
Director Nitesh Tiwari praised Sai Pallavi and Ranbir Kapoor for their performances, saying he saw the essence of Sita and Ram in them. “An actor’s eyes tell the truth. I have seen Ram in Ranbir’s eyes and Sita in Sai’s,” he said, highlighting their sincerity and dedication.
The ‘Ramayana’ trailer received a special preview at the Bharat Mandapam event, while the official trailer is set to be unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 on July 24.
