Actor Rhea Chakraborty, comedian Bharti Singh, and YouTuber Elvish Yadav have been summoned by police in connection with the HiBox mobile app, part of a ₹500 crore investment scam. The app, which promised daily returns of 1-5%, lured over 30,000 investors after they were enticed by promotional content from popular influencers. Since its launch in February 2024, HiBox paid initial returns until June before halting payments, citing technical and legal issues. Delhi Police received over 500 complaints, prompting a broader investigation involving additional social media influencers. The main suspect, Sivaram, a 30-year-old from Chennai, has already been arrested. (With inputs from Agencies)
