Mumbai: Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas is embracing the festive season ahead of Karva Chauth, sharing glimpses of her intricate mehendi with husband Nick Jonas’ full name, “Nicholas,” adorning her palm.

The actress posted two updates on Instagram Stories. In one video, Priyanka displayed her henna-decorated hand with “Nicholas” written in the centre, captioning it: “@ishirincharaniya doing her thing this Karva Chauth.” She also shared a photo of herself and daughter Malti Marie’s tiny hands adorned with delicate henna designs.

Karva Chauth is a Hindu festival observed by women in Nepal and northern and western India. Celebrated in October or November according to the Bikram Sambat month of Kartika, women fast from sunrise to moonrise for the well-being and longevity of their husbands.

Priyanka and Nick Jonas began dating in 2018 and married the same year, in December at Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur, in traditional Hindu and Christian ceremonies. In January 2022, they welcomed daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas via surrogacy.

On October 8, Priyanka also attended Zakir Khan’s stand-up show in New York, praising the comedian for his “kindness, humour and creativity.” Sharing a selfie from the event, she wrote: “Thank you for your kindness, humour and creativity. So happy to know you. @zakirkhan_208.”

Zakir Khan responded, calling her “grace in motion”, and thanked her for being “You are grace in motion! Thank you for your kindness and for being such a guiding light - for me and for so many others. Many regards.” The two also shared a lunch during his final show, which Zakir described as the “last lunch of the tour with the queen herself.”

On the work front, Priyanka was last seen in 'Heads of State', directed by Ilya Naishuller, co-starring Idris Elba and John Cena as the UK Prime Minister and US President, respectively. She will next appear alongside Mahesh Babu in the upcoming film tentatively titled 'SSMB29'.

Additionally, she has been signed for the latest instalment of the popular franchise 'Krrish 4', marking Hrithik Roshan’s debut as a director, and will portray a 19th-century Caribbean pirate in the forthcoming swashbuckler action drama 'The Bluff'.
