Responding to a question on his collaborations with legendary actors, Mohanlal spoke about the values he learned from working alongside cinema greats.

Chennai: Actor Mohanlal has described his upcoming pan-Indian film Vrusshabha as a “very different” and “special” project, citing its unique creative combination, emotional depth and challenging production process.
Speaking about the film at the trailer launch event, Mohanlal said the project stood out for him due to its unusual mix of languages, talent and storytelling.
“It is very special for me because it is a strange combination. A Kannada director is directing a Malayalam-Telugu film with North Indian producers and Malayalam actors. That itself is a strange coincidence,” Mohanlal said.
He added that the story immediately appealed to him when director Nanda Kishore narrated it.
“When Nanda Kishore told me the story, I felt there was something different in it. It took a lot of time to make the film because of extensive CGI work. It contains a lot of emotions and tells the tale of two eras. We faced many issues during the making of the film, and I thank all the actors who stood by the project and made it possible,” he said.
Mohanlal further emphasised that Vrusshabha was unlike his usual films. “For me, it is a different film,” he said.
Responding to a question on his collaborations with legendary actors, Mohanlal spoke about the values he learned from working alongside cinema greats.
“This is something that should be asked of them. When I worked with great actors like Prem Nazir sir, Sivaji Ganesan sir, Nageswara Rao sir, and Amitabh Bachchan, the kind of love they showed me was a lesson in itself,” he said.
He added that those experiences shaped his approach to filmmaking and relationships within the industry.
“They never treated me as a newcomer or kept me aside. They gave me all the love and support. I believe it is my right and my duty to carry forward that legacy. I try to give the same respect and honesty back to my colleagues. All combinations are special to me,” Mohanlal said.
Meanwhile, the makers of Vrusshabha, directed by Nanda Kishore, recently released the film’s official trailer, which has generated strong buzz among fans and film buffs. The epic drama spans two timelines, a historic kingdom and the modern era, and explores the intense bond between a father and son across generations.
Presented by Connekkt Media in collaboration with Balaji Telefilms, Vrusshabha has been shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Telugu and features a large ensemble cast including Samarjit Lankesh, Nayan Sarika, Ragini Dwivedi, Ajay, Neha Saxena and others. The film is slated for a theatrical release on December 25.
