Ryan Coogler’s blues-infused vampire drama ‘Sinners’ dominated the nominations for the 98th Academy Awards, earning 16 nods on Thursday – the highest tally ever achieved by a single film in Oscar history.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recognised the film across major categories, surpassing the previous record of 14 nominations shared by ‘All About Eve’, ‘Titanic’ and ‘La La Land’. Coogler scored nominations for best director and best original screenplay, while star Michael B. Jordan, who also produced the film, landed his first-ever best actor nomination.

Coming in close behind was Paul Thomas Anderson’s political and personal epic ‘One Battle After Another,’ which secured 13 nominations. The film, widely viewed as a frontrunner ahead of Thursday’s announcement, picked up acting nods for Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn. And here’s the list for the 98th Academy Award nominations:
