Dubai: Actor Ajmal Ameer has publicly responded to the recent controversy surrounding a viral audio clip that allegedly features him speaking inappropriately to a woman. The voice note, widely circulated on social media, has sparked backlash and led to accusations against the actor, including claims of engaging in lewd conversations via Instagram.

In a video statement released on his Instagram, Ajmal strongly denied the allegations, stating, “No fabricated stories, no AI voice imitating, or brilliant editing can destroy me or my career.”

He acknowledged the widespread discussion on social platforms and thanked both supporters and critics for their engagement.

“Two days ago, some very bad news about me came out. I want to express my gratitude and love to everyone who supported me on social media. I feel respect for the users who posted to defame me, seeing their care and love for society,” he added.

“The strength I received from the messages and calls consoling me, above all the abuses, is the reason I am sitting before you today. You are my strength to move forward. A thousand thanks to everyone who supported me.”

Ajmal also addressed the management of his social media accounts, revealing that he previously used a profile created by fans. He has now taken full control of the account, sharing a screenshot of logins he wrote, “Starting today, I'll be the only one handling this account. No one else has access or admin rights anymore.”

The incident has also resulted in online hate being directed toward the actor and the woman involved in the purported audio.

Ajmal Ameer is currently in Dubai, where he is working on upcoming projects. He concluded his video with a brief reassurance to his fans, “I am well and good.”

Ajmal made his Mollywood lead debut in the 2007 Malayalam film Pranayakalam. The movie’s popular track, “Oru Venalppuzhayil,” brought him early recognition. He has since worked in multiple South Indian films, including Tamil and Malayalam cinema.
