In a recent development regarding the longstanding controversy surrounding Bollywood actor Nana Patekar and actress Tanushree Dutta, Patekar has broken his silence on the matter.
Dutta had accused Patekar of sexual harassment during the shooting of a film in 2008, sparking a significant #MeToo movement in India.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Patekar dismissed the allegations, stating, "Everyone knows the truth... I knew that it was all a lie. That’s why I didn’t get angry. When everything was a lie, why should I be angry?"
In 2018, Tanushree Dutta filed a complaint accusing Nana Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, and director Vivek Agnihotri of inappropriate behaviour during the shooting of a song sequence.
Despite the FIR and legal proceedings initiated against him and others, Patekar has consistently denied the allegations and maintained his innocence.
