Namitha Pramod, who transitioned from television to cinema, has established herself as a successful actress with notable films like ‘Sound Thoma,’ ‘Vikramadithyan,’ ‘Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum,’ and ‘Adi Kapyare Kootamani.’
In an interview with Saina South Plus, Namitha shared her thoughts on marriage, financial independence, and the lessons she has learned from the film industry.
"I believe in the concept of family, and I do wish to get married. It will happen when I am mentally ready. The decision of when to marry is personal for everyone," she said.
Namitha emphasised the importance of financial stability before marriage. "It’s best to get married after achieving financial stability and having an independent income. Only then will there be respect and dignity. Our opinions will have value. But again, it’s a matter of perspective, and people’s mental abilities differ," she stated.
She also revealed that she is not receiving any marriage proposals at the moment. "People assume that after a certain age, I must already have a boyfriend. That might be why no one is approaching me. Besides, I don’t give off that vibe. Earlier, I used to stay quiet, but now, if I don’t like something, I say it openly," she added.
On her expectations for a life partner, Namitha said compatibility and understanding are key. "Constant arguments shouldn’t happen. I don’t believe in divorce. That doesn’t mean divorce is wrong, but if two people can’t get along, separation is the best option," she pointed out.
Reflecting on her career, Namitha said failures do not affect her. "I never considered cinema to be my entire world. I love standing in front of the camera, but I also love business. I have never stressed over not having film offers," she said.
She noted that the industry has taught her valuable lessons. "Just because success comes quickly doesn’t mean it will last forever. If three or four films flop, you will be back at square one. Then, you rise again. Actors today are seasonal. Ups and downs are natural, and I have realised that there is no place for arrogance," she remarked.
After a series of early hits, Namitha has now returned with ‘Machante Maalakha,’ in which she stars alongside Soubin Shahir.
