Chennai: The Nadigar Sangam, an association for actors in the Tamil film industry, has set up a special committee to tackle issues of violence and exploitation within the industry. Actress Rohini has been appointed as the chairperson of this committee, which has called on female artists to come forward and share their complaints.

Although the association's internal committee has been in place since 2019, it had not taken many significant actions. However, during a meeting held last week, it was decided to intensify the efforts. The committee was formed based on this decision.

The Nadigar Sangam has made special arrangements for anyone to file complaints related to any form of violence. If the accusations are proven, the offenders could face a five-year ban from the film industry.

In addition to offering a platform for complaints, the association will also provide legal support to the victims.

Rohini has urged people to report their concerns directly to the internal committee instead of informing them to the media.
