A meeting between The Chainsmokers and Mohanlal in Dallas has gone viral, after the duo shared a photo from before their show and described the actor as their “new friend”.
Ahead of their performance in Dallas, the American electronic DJ duo posted a picture on Instagram featuring Mohanlal. In the image, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart stand on either side of the actor, all three smiling as they pose for the camera.

“Made a new friend before our show in Dallas @mohanlal,” the caption read.

Mohanlal’s outfit in the picture stood out for its unique design. He wore a short-sleeve button-up shirt with a striking print. The upper half featured a light sky blue shade with two large flying eagles or hawks in gold and brown tones, while the lower half was a solid dark navy blue. The shirt included a chest pocket and was left open over a white undershirt with a chain. He paired the look with straight-fit dark blue denim jeans.

The Chainsmokers’ rise to global fame

The Chainsmokers, made up of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, began their journey by releasing remixes of songs by indie artists. Their breakthrough came in 2014 with #Selfie, which became a top twenty hit across several countries.

The duo went on to release several popular tracks, including ‘Don't Let Me Down’, ‘Closer’, ‘Paris and Something Just Like This’, along with “Bouquet” and “No Hard Feelings”.

Their work has earned them accolades such as the Grammy Award and American Music Awards. At one point, they were also named the highest-paid DJs, ending Calvin Harris’s six-year run at the top.

In their latest update, the Grammy Award-winning and RIAA diamond-certified duo have reunited with Swedish singer-songwriter Winona Oak, also known as Oaks, for their new single ‘Already Know’, which is out now.

What’s next for Mohanlal

On the work front, Mohanlal recently announced that ‘Drishyam 3’ will release on May 21 this year. The crime thriller is directed by Jeethu Joseph and also stars Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil.

He is also gearing up for the much-awaited spy thriller ‘Patriot’, which is set to release on May 1. The film will mark his collaboration with Mammootty after a long gap.

Mohanlal was last seen in ‘Vrusshabha’, a fantasy action film written and directed by Nanda Kishore.
