Kochi: Veteran actor Mohanlal has announced his next film and early indications suggest he may be donning the khaki once again.
The film, tentatively titled "L365", marks the directorial debut of Austin Dan Thomas and is written by Ratheesh Ravi, with production by Ashiq Usman under Ashiq Usman Productions.
“With immense joy, I announce my next film. Directed by Austin Dan Thomas, written by Ratheesh Ravi, and produced by Ashiq Usman under the banner of Ashiq Usman Productions. Grateful to be part of this exciting new chapter,” Mohanlal wrote on social media.
While the makers have not revealed plot details, visuals shared online and industry buzz hint at Mohanlal returning to play a police officer—one of his most iconic and celebrated on-screen avatars.
Director Austin Dan Thomas previously served as chief associate director on the hit crime thriller Anjaam Pathiraa (2020), while writer Ratheesh Ravi is known for Ishq (2019) and Alappuzha Gymkhana (2025).
Mohanlal was last seen in Kannappa (2025), a Telugu devotional epic, and earlier this year in the Malayalam films Thudarum and Empuraan, both box office successes. More details about the new film, including its title and supporting cast, are expected to be announced soon. The actor will next be seen in Hridayapoorvam, directed by Sathyan Anthikad.
