“Regardless of what issues arise, men are never sidelined from their own projects...” fans continued to comment and speculate on Trisha Krishnan’s absence from the promotional event of Karuppu.

Aditi Ravindranath has more or less confirmed reports of a suspected rift between actor Trisha Krishnan and the crew of the Suriya-starrer Karuppu. Aditi reacted by sharing a post from a fan on X regarding Trisha’s absence from the Karuppu audio launch. The fact that Trisha Krishnan stayed away from the film’s promotional events, directed by actor-filmmaker RJ Balaji, had already sparked considerable debate.
“This is misogyny directed at her. Regardless of what issues arise, men are never sidelined from their own projects. It is a disgrace that a senior actor like Trisha is not treated with due respect—especially if they failed to invite her to the event and deliberately excluded her from promotions,” a fan wrote on X. Aditi shared this, stating that she agreed with the sentiment. Additionally, she shared other posts supporting Trisha, including photos of the actor participating in promotions for Ponniyin Selvan, Leo, Identity, and Thug Life. She also reshared a note from a fan account titled Being Trisha is not easy.
Aditi Ravindranath served as the executive producer of the Navarasa anthology series, which also featured Suriya. She was also part of the making of Tamil films such as Aaromale and Putham Pudhu Kaalai.
Trisha plays a lawyer named Preethi in Karuppu. Ahead of the release, the makers unveiled a first-look video of her character. Trisha’s absence from the audio launch became a talking point shortly after. While some criticised her, Trisha took to social media, sharing her character teaser with a hint that the team was ignoring her. In response to one of the comments, she remarked, “Thank you. Even I forgot. Good to know they set a reminder now at least.” When a fan asked about her absence from the audio launch, Trisha replied sarcastically, “I guess my invite got lost in the mail :).”
While some pointed out that her name and photo were on the event posters, supporters argued that posters do not constitute a formal invitation. The dispute has intensified as the film is slated for theatrical release on May 14.
Trisha’s personal life and career are currently under the spotlight. She is set to celebrate her 43rd birthday on May 4. Karuppu is one of her major upcoming projects following Identity and Vidaamuyarchi. She is also the female lead in the Chiranjeevi-starrer Vishwambhara. Karuppu marks Trisha’s reunion with Suriya after their 2005 film Aaru. The cast also includes Indrans, Yogi Babu, Sshivada, Swasika, Natty, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi.
