Director Chidambaram S. Poduval has achieved a remarkable feat by seeing both of his films enjoy a successful run of 100 days in theatres. His debut directorial, 'Jan. E. 'Manjummel Boys' marked a significant shift in the landscape of Malayalam cinema upon its release on February 22, 2024. This gripping survival thriller not only earned the distinction of being the first Malayalam film to enter the prestigious Rs 200 crore club but also emerged as the highest-grossing film in Malayalam cinema history within a mere 21 days. Its immense success has solidified its status as the biggest industry hit in Malayalam.
The film, based on a true incident, has resonated deeply with audiences worldwide, garnering widespread acclaim for its compelling narrative. Directed and scripted by Chidambaram himself, 'Manjummel Boys' follows the journey of a group of friends from Manjummel in Kochi to Kodaikanal, navigating through unexpected and challenging circumstances along the way.
Featuring a stellar cast including Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathy, Lal Jr., Chanthu Salimkumar, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Deepak Parambol, Khalid Rahman, Arun Kurien, and Vishnu Raghu, the film is produced under the banner of Parava Films.
