Mammootty Kampany makes his debut in short films with ‘Aaro’, directed by Ranjith and starring Manju Warrier. This marks the legendary production house’s first venture into the short film format, featuring Shyama Prasad and Aziz Nedumangad in key roles. The film will be released on Mammootty Company’s official YouTube channel, offering audiences a fresh cinematic experience from the acclaimed team.
While Mammootty Kampany has previously produced seven feature films, this marks their debut in the short film format. The project has been made in collaboration with Capitol Theatre. The film is notable as Ranjith’s comeback project after a brief hiatus.
The short film will also be showcased at national and international film festivals. A preview screening held in Kochi on Sunday received excellent responses from the audience.
The story and dialogue of ‘Aaro’ are by V R Sudheesh, with Kalpetta Narayanan contributing the poetry. The film is directed by Ranjith and its executive producer is George Sebastian, while Sunil Singh serves as the line producer. Prashanth Ravindran handled the cinematography, with Biji Pal composing the background score. Rathin Radhakrishnan is the editor, Santosh Raman the art director and Liju Prabhakar the colourist. Ajayan Adat oversaw production sound mixing and sound design, with Sameera Saneesh as the costume designer and Ranjith Ambadi in charge of makeup.
