Kozhikode: Late Malayalam actor Mamukkoya's son Nizar Mamukkoya filed a complaint against a junior artist for making a defamatory remark against his father.

Nizar lodged a complaint with the Kozhikode City Police Commissioner seeking action against the artist.

After the release of the Hema Committee report, many people working in the film industry came forward with sexual harassment allegations against fellow artists.

An actress, who is a junior artist, has also made allegations against the actors Edavela Babu, Sudheesh, Mamukkoya and the late director Harikumar. She also filed a complaint in this regard.

Her statements were recorded by the special investigation team and the Nadakkavu police in Kozhikode registered a case against actors Sudheesh and Edavela Babu.

After this, Mamukkoya's son filed a complaint against the actress. Nisar's complaint states that the allegations made by the junior artist are aimed at bringing a bad name to his deceased father. He informed that he will approach the court as the next step.

Meanwhile, Nizar also shared a video on Facebook with a further explanation on the matter.

"I am a person who respects women. My mother and father lived together for more than fifty years. I have not heard of any quarrel between them during this time. I am making this video on the back of a madam's slander about my father. The hunter must be punished. The victim should get fair justice. No matter who it is or what case," Nizar said.
