Behind-the-scenes footage from Kaathal – The Core, directed by Jeo Baby and starring Mammootty, has been released online. The video was shared on the Mammootty Kampany’s official YouTube channel to mark two years since the film’s release.

Written by Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria, the film hit cinemas on 23 November 2023 and generated wide discussion for its bold exploration of same-sex love. Kaathal – The Core also marked Jyothika’s return to Malayalam cinema after a long hiatus, her last appearance being in Seetha Kalyanam (2009).

The newly released BTS video, running for three minutes and eight seconds, offers a glimpse into the filming of several pivotal scenes. Among the highlights is the behind-the-scenes capture of Mammootty’s emotionally powerful performance, which had left audiences deeply moved. The video also features lighter moments from the set, including Mammootty taking photographs of Jyothika and the actor video-calling her husband, Tamil star Suriya. Previously, Mammootty Kampany had shared footage of Suriya visiting the film’s location.

Kaathal – The Core is Mammootty Kampany’s production following Kannur Squad. The film’s cinematography is by Salu K. Thomas, with editing by Francies Louis and music by Mathews Pulickan. The cast includes Muthumani, Chinnu Chandni, Sudhi Kozhikode, Alex Alister, Anagha Maya Ravi and Josey Sijo among others.
