Reports suggest that the Censor Board directed a change in the villain’s name due to its similarity to the name of a prominent politician’s son.

The Censor Board has ordered cuts for the film ‘Patriot’, directed by Mahesh Narayanan and starring Mammootty and Mohanlal in lead roles. The board reportedly directed the removal of certain scenes and names in the political thriller, as they were deemed potentially controversial.
The crew is apparently preparing to resubmit the film after re-editing. The re-editing is known to have been completed at Lal Media Studio in Kochi.
