Actor Arun Kurian has shared a heartwarming anecdote from the sets of Lokah, revealing a surprise visit from Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty. In a video posted by Cue Studio, Arun recalled how the legendary actor dropped by the location unexpectedly and left a lasting impression on the team.

“Mammookka came on the 3rd or 4th day of the shoot. We actually didn’t know this earlier,” Arun said. “He came, spoke to everyone, and left in a few minutes.”

But what happened next caught the crew off guard. “Our production controller called us and said that Mammooka is coming back to take a photo with us,” Arun added, visibly touched by the gesture.

“He came back, took a photo with us. I told him it was my first time seeing him in person. He asked, ‘Okay then, how am I?’ and I said, ‘Kollam’ [Great],” he said, laughing.

Mammootty’s brief appearance on set gained attention after it was confirmed that he played the mysterious character ‘Moothon’ in Lokah. The cameo had sparked weeks of speculation, as the character appeared only in silhouette, with no clear face shown, just a voice and a hand.

The mystery was officially put to rest on Mammootty’s 74th birthday, when Dulquer Salmaan and Wayfarer Films shared a poster on social media captioned: “Happy Birthday Moothon,” confirming what many fans had suspected all along.

Now, with Lokah having crossed the ₹200 crore milestone, the film has become one of Malayalam cinema’s biggest box office successes.
