She once said that “acting alongside Suriya—her all-time favourite actor—was a long-cherished dream”

The much-anticipated film Suriya 46 has officially commenced with a traditional pooja ceremony held in Hyderabad. Temporarily titled Suriya 46, the project marks a notable collaboration between Tamil superstar Suriya and acclaimed Telugu director Venky Atluri, known for his recent successes.
Produced by Sithara Entertainments, the film features Mamitha Baiju in the female lead role. Following the success of Lucky Baskhar, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Suriya 46 is Venky Atluri’s next directorial venture. The supporting cast includes prominent names such as Raveena Tandon and Radhika Sarathkumar.
The film’s technical crew comprises renowned composer G.V. Prakash Kumar, who will handle the music, and cinematographer Nimish Ravi.
Mamitha Baiju was earlier cast in Vanangaan, a film originally announced with Suriya in the lead and directed by Bala. However, Suriya later exited the project due to creative differences, and Mamitha also withdrew. The lead role was subsequently taken up by Arun Vijay, with Roshni replacing Mamitha as the female lead. Mamitha has previously stated that acting alongside Suriya—her all-time favourite actor—was a long-cherished dream.
Meanwhile, Mamitha’s Tamil film Rebel, in which G.V. Prakash Kumar played the lead, underperformed at the box office despite high expectations. She currently has several upcoming projects, including the much-hyped Jana Nayagan, touted as Vijay’s last film before his full-fledged political entry; Irandu Vaanam, which reunites the Ratsasan team; and Dude, also starring Pradeep Ranganathan.
