Archana Kavi has shared her happiness about her return to Malayalam cinema after a significant gap. She is making her comeback with a strong role in the movie ‘Identity,’ starring Tovino Thomas. Archana took to social media to express her disbelief that it has been 10 years since she last saw herself on the big screen. In a heartfelt note about her return, she opened up about the personal struggles she had faced during the intervening years.

Archana wrote: “It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since I saw my face on the big screen. Identity came into my life during one of its lowest phases. I wasn't sure if I could do justice to it. My meds were unregulated, and I was battling my episodes. That's when @akhilpaul_ stepped in as a director then as a friend. He stood by me, ensured I was on track with my meds, and even prayed with me on those tough days. I switched doctors, and by the time we were shooting, I didn't have a single episode.

I'm in a much better place now, but I still don’t know if I’m ready to face the screen again. I might just stand outside like a nervous husband in a delivery room, hoping that people will love the film... and me. My parents are flying down to Kerala to watch the film after Neelathamara. It feels like a rebirth. Fingers crossed"

Archana Kavi made her Malayalam cinema debut with the Lal Jose-directed ‘Neelathamara,’ which received tremendous acclaim. She later appeared in movies like ‘Mummy & Me,’ ‘Salt N' Pepper,’ and ‘Honey Bee.’ Earlier she had revealed about battling depression. Archana was diagnosed with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and underwent treatment for nearly three years. During this period, she also went through a divorce.
