The film stars Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty and blends romance with a futuristic storyline set in 2040

Missed ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ in cinemas? After a mixed run in theatres, The sci-fi romantic comedy, directed by Vignesh Shivan is now set for its OTT release.
The film, which hit theatres on April 10, 2026, will begin streaming from May 6 on Amazon Prime Video.
A love story set in the future
Set in the year 2040, the story revolves around Vasu, also known as Vibe Vassey, who comes from a village called Pasume Ulagam, meaning “Organic World”. In contrast to the tech-driven cities of the future, this village continues to live without modern technology, sticking to a simpler lifestyle.
Vasu’s life takes an unusual turn when he becomes the voice of a futuristic romance-finder app. This system relies on algorithms to determine whether two people are compatible, turning love into something that can be measured through data and predictions rather than emotions.
Things get complicated when Vasu falls for Dheema, even though the app predicts that their relationship is unlikely to succeed. Their bond ends up challenging the very system he works for. As the company steps in to break them apart, the story unfolds around whether technology will win or love will find its way despite the odds.
Cast and crew
The film features Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles. Supporting performances come from S J Suryah, Yogi Babu, Seeman, Gouri G Kishan, Shah Ra, Malavika and Sunil Reddy, among others.
The project is written and directed by Vignesh Shivan, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Interestingly, the film was first planned back in 2019 with Sivakarthikeyan in the lead. However, it was shelved due to budget issues. The project was later revived in 2023 with Pradeep Ranganathan stepping in as the lead actor.
Box office response
Following its theatrical release, ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ received mixed reactions from critics. While its unusual concept, futuristic setting and popular cast drew attention, it did not perform strongly at the box office.
