Actor Madhavan has recently unveiled the details of his weight loss journey, through which he managed to shed pounds in just 21 days. In an interview with Curly Tales, Madhavan explained that his success was due to a strict diet and minor lifestyle changes, achieved without exercise, surgery, or medical treatments.
The details he shared involved significant changes to his eating habits. He chewed each mouthful of food 45 to 60 times and incorporated intermittent fasting into his routine, focusing on including a maximum amount of vegetables.
Madhavan also revealed that he had gained weight for his role in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and shared how he lost it. According to the actor, he had his last meal of the day by 6:45 pm, completely cut off uncooked food after 3 pm, went for early morning walks, and went to bed early. In addition to these dietary adjustments, he also avoided screen time at least 90 minutes before going to bed.
However, some argue that rapid weight loss methods may not be safe or universally applicable, suggesting that what worked for Madhavan might not work for everyone.
For those looking for healthy weight loss plans, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) recommends the following:
- Balanced Diet: Choose foods that are high in fibre and nutrients to reduce appetite and the urge to overeat, thus reducing excess calorie intake.
- Vegetables: Eating foods that are low in calories but rich in vitamins, minerals, and fibre can make weight loss easier.
- Portion Control: Control the amount of food you eat to prevent overeating.
- Snacks: When choosing snacks, ensure they are nutritious. Options include nuts, plain yoghurt, and vegetables.
- Healthy Cooking: Use cooking methods such as grilling, baking, and steaming, which require less oil, to aid in weight loss.
- Cut Back on Sugary Drinks: Reduce consumption of sugary beverages like soda and fruit juices. Opt for water, herbal tea, and unsweetened drinks instead.
- Pay Attention to Food Labels: Check food labels for calories, artificial sweeteners, salt, and saturated fats. Choose products with healthier ingredients as much as possible.
