
To everyone’s surprise, popular actor Lena on Tuesday announced her marriage with Air Force Group Captain Prashanth Balakrishnan Nair, the Malayali face among the four test pilots shortlisted for India's first manned space mission Gaganyaan. Breaking the news on social media, Lena said she was waiting for his name to be announced officially for the mission by the Prime Minister. Lena said they tied the wedding knot on January 17.
Lena wrote on her Instagram page : “Today , 27 February 2024 , our Prime Minister Modiji awarded the First Indian Astronaut Wings to Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot , Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. It is a historic moment of pride for our Country, our state of Kerala and me personally. In order to maintain the officially required confidentiality, I was waiting for this announcement to let you know that I got married to Prasanth on 17 January, 2024 in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage.”
Prasanth, hailing from Nenmara, joined the Air Force in 1999 after completing engineering at NSS College, Palakkad. He received the sword of honour given to the best-performing cadet during overall training in 1998. He is a Sukhoi fighter pilot Group Captain and has been undergoing training for India's dream mission for the past few years. He was also the first rank holder at the United States Air Force Air Command and Staff College
