“Yami arrives on time on the film set, just like me,” said Emraan. “Akhaa Bollywood ek taraf, and Emraan Hashmi ek taraf,” she replied.

Haq, starring Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam in the lead roles, is set to hit theatres worldwide on November 7. The film, directed by Suparn S. Varma, is apparently based on the landmark and controversial Shah Bano case of 1985.
Meanwhile, Emraan—considered a timeless hero—was last seen in Aryan Khan’s The Ba**ds of Bollywood, with his performance being widely revered and celebrated. Yami Gautam, on the other hand, recently featured in prominent films including Article 370 and Dhoom Dhaam.
What’s now doing the rounds on social media is Emraan and Yami’s candid conversation with Anupama Chopra in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India.
Shedding light on their eventful journeys in Bollywood so far, the actors revealed several riveting details during the fun chat.
It’s a well-known fact that songs from Emraan’s movies evoke deep nostalgia for 90s kids and still carry their magic. The enchanting actor, in the interview, stated that while songs these days are driven more by algorithms, during his prime, it was all about emotion—closer to the heart. The internet has given a huge thumbs-up to the actor for his remark.
Going ahead, Emraan further shared that it was great working with Yami Gautam. “She arrives on time on the film set, just like me,” the actor said.
In reply to this, Anupama Chopra quizzed whether there are still artists who come late to the set. Emraan probably had the best answer reserved for this.
“Leave aside coming late, some of them don’t even show up!” the actor revealed, sparking intrigue and bemusement.
As the conversation spiralled out, Yami said that she no longer seeks validation and doesn’t believe that winning a particular award will make her a better or different actor.
The entire THRI interview was filled with such blunt talk, offering insight into the offscreen personas of Emraan and Yami Gautam—exposing shades of their true selves: frank and unapologetic.
