When the movie ‘Aniyathipraavu’ directed by Fazil became a blockbuster in Malayalam, the bike in which hero Kunchako Boban appeared in the movie also became a superhit. Thus the 'red Splendor' of Hero Honda set a new trend among the youth of the time. After completing a quarter-century of 'Aniyathipraavu', Kunchako Boban had owned the same bike.

The movie ‘Aniyathipraavu’ starring Kunchako Boban and Shalini was released on March 26, 1997. The movie will complete 25 years by tomorrow (Friday) and the news that Kunchako Boban bought the same bike has now gone viral on social media.

The bike which Kunchako Boban rode in the movie ‘Aniyathipraavu’ was owned by Bony, a staff at a bike showroom in Alappuzha. It has been reported that the bike was found after searching for a long while.

Hero Honda Splendor had reached the market as a descendent of Hero Honda CD 100 which was much popular in the 1990s. Splendor was manufactured by drawing inspiration from Honda CB 250 RS that arrived in the foreign market by the 1980s. The production of the Splendor began in 1994 here.

The first modified version of the bike ‘Splendor Plus’ appeared 10 years later, in 2004. The new version had its revamp in headlight, taillight and in the graphics of the new design. Splendor assured fuel efficiency of over 60 kilometres per litre. Several other modifications were introduced in 2007 and 2011 too. Even after Hero and Honda split in 2011, the bike is still available in the market under the label of Hero.
