Kozhikode: The Kozhikode Kasaba Police has completed the questioning of actor and comedian Kootickal Jayachandran in connection with a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case.

The Supreme Court had earlier stayed his arrest until February 28, while also directing him to cooperate with the investigation.

It was in this context that the actor appeared at the police station on Thursday. Earlier, a lookout notice had been issued against actor Koottickal Jayachandran in the case.

The questioning lasted for about one and a half hours, and the police stated that he may be summoned again if necessary.

After the interrogation, Jayachandran told the media that he had nothing specific to comment on at the moment, but would speak in detail later.

The case against Jayachandran was registered seven months ago following a complaint that he had sexually abused a four-year-old girl. The complaint was filed by the child's mother, leading Kozhikode Kasaba Police to initiate legal proceedings.
As per the complaint, Jayachandran allegedly took advantage of family disputes to abuse the child. The police have already recorded the child's statement as part of the investigation.
