MBC’s variety programme Good Day aired its June 6 episode with no appearance or mention of actor Kim Soo-hyun, confirming that he has been completely edited out of the show following intense public backlash linked to his alleged relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron.
Entirely cut from scenes he had filmed
Despite Kim Soo-hyun’s confirmed participation in the filming, including his involvement in the celebrity auction and the group track recording session for ‘Telepathy’ by the duo City Boys (also referred to as 'Doshiaidul'), the actor was nowhere to be seen during the latest episode.
According to Chosun Biz, in scenes where the full cast gathered—such as during CL’s appearance from 2NE1—Kim, who was seated prominently in the centre, was concealed using a digital partition and a white line. While the show featured the recording process of other cast members such as Code Kunst, Im Si-wan, Jung Hae-in, Hwang Kwang-hee, Jo Se-ho and DAY6, Kim’s presence was carefully edited out.

Additionally, he was absent from the “88ers” segment and was not seen during the final airing of the group’s recording.
Allegations and aftermath
Kim Soo-hyun has been at the centre of controversy following suspicions that he had a romantic relationship with Kim Sae-ron during her underage years. Kim Sae-ron was found dead in her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on February 16.
The actor had continued filming for Good Day on March 13, and his full appearance was initially broadcast in the March 16 episode. However, after facing criticism from viewers, the production team announced that “as much as possible, Kim Soo-hyun's grants would be edited out” and that “the individual recording process conducted on the 13th would not be aired.” He was also absent from the March 28 episode.
At a press conference held on March 31, Kim publicly addressed the allegations, stating: “I did not have a relationship when the deceased was a minor.” He also refuted claims that Kim Sae-ron’s death was connected to him or his agency. “It is also not true that the deceased made a tragic choice due to my rejection and that my agency pressured the deceased's debt.” He further alleged that some of the KakaoTalk messages shared by the bereaved family were fabricated and proceeded to file a civil and criminal lawsuit worth 12 billion won against the family and Kim Se-hee, the operator of the controversial YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute.
Spotlight shifted to other cast
Meanwhile, the show continued with lighter segments, including a celebrity item auction featuring Hong Jin-kyung’s gua sha tool and Ahn Sung-jae’s knife, which attracted notable bids. A “G-Dragon Voucher” also drew attention, offering the winning bidder the chance to collaborate with the artist or call on him for even the oddest tasks—like cockroach extermination. Ultimately, G-Dragon awarded the voucher to the girl group aespa, who were seen celebrating the moment.
