Kochi: Actor-director Madhupal has expressed solidarity with the people of Lakshadweep who are in distress with the reforms implemented by the new administrator. Madhupal took to his Facebook page to clear his stance on the matter.
In the post, he noted that Lakshadweep administrator Praful Khoda Patel set foot in the island to implement the Sangh Parivar agenda as directed by the central government.
Madhupal alleged that some terrorist groups are trying to hijack the protests of the Lakshadweep natives. He alerted that such moves should be countered. Madhupal declared that he would like to support the people of Lakshadweep as he tried to study their issues.
In the long post, Madhupal pointed out each reform introduced by Praful Khoda Patel. He criticised the new administrator’s decision to lift the COVID quarantine policy and introduction of the law to curb anti-social activities.
As part of the development agenda, 7 to 15-metre road will be constructed on the island where less than 80,000 people are residing. Many tourist villa projects were launched. Permission was granted to tourist lagoons and private beaches after evacuating fishermen from the beach, he pointed out.
Some international yoga centres are also in queue seeking approval to establish a centre on the island. The administrator claim all these projects are for the welfare of the people, Madhupal wrote.
