After the superhit "Marco," widely described as one of the most violence-intense films in Malayalam cinema, Cubes Entertainments has now wrapped production on "Kattalan", produced by Shareef Muhammed and directed by debutant Paul George. The film features Antony Varghese, Dushara Vijayan, Sunil and Kabir Singh in the lead roles. The team officially announced the wrap after an extensive 140-day shooting schedule. The makers hint that the film will offer a grand visual spectacle packed with intense action sequences and powerful performances. The film is slated for release in May.

The lyrical video 'Majako Mallika', set to the untamed rhythm of the forest, has already garnered wide attention across social media. The teaser, released recently, went viral, featuring striking action sequences involving a wild tusker. The visuals suggest that "Kattalan" will bring to the screen action of a scale not previously seen in Malayalam cinema. Much like "Marco", audiences can expect high-voltage violence in "Kattalan" as well. The film will have a worldwide release in May. T-Series has acquired the music rights, while Shemaroo serves as the digital and satellite distribution partner.

The film's first look which was released gave the impression that the film's going to surprise everyone. Each update that came after garnered widespread attention. The teaser, too, was captivating and huge. The teaser BTS gave a sneak peek into how huge the project is. The crew already announced that the fights involving the tusker are not VFX, but shot with a real life elephant.

Mounted on a grand scale with exceptional technical finesse and an impressive budget, the film is widely anticipated to be one of Malayalam cinema's most visually striking spectacles. Dushara Vijayan, who has carved a niche for herself in Tamil cinema through several notable performances, appears as the female lead alongside Antony Varghese Pepe.

Principal photography began in Thailand. The film commenced its shoot with the team led by internationally acclaimed stunt choreographer Kecha Khamphakdee, known for the iconic Thai martial arts film "Ong-Bak". Adding to the excitement, Pong, the elephant that rose to fame through "Ong-Bak", is also part of the cast. The film features a massive ensemble of actors from Malayalam as well as across India. The overseas distribution rights have been acquired by industry giants Phars Films.

A diverse cast joins the project, including pan-Indian actors Sunil and Kabir Duhan Singh, along with Jagadish, Siddique, Anson Paul, Raj Tirandasu, singer Hanan Shaah, Malayalam rapper Baby Jean, Shon Joy, Kill movie fame Parth Tiwari, Shibin S. Raghavan of Lokah movie fame, Hipster Pranav Raj, and Call Me Venom. The posters welcoming this ensemble received significant attention. "Kattalan" also marked its beginning with one of the most elaborate pooja ceremonies Kochi has witnessed.

Antony Varghese Pepe appears in the film under his real name, 'Antony Varghese'. Kecha Khamphakdee, whose acclaimed body of work includes "Ong-Bak 2", "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", "Jawan", "Baaghi 2" and "Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1", returns to design high-octane action sequences for this large-scale pan-Indian action thriller.

The film's dialogues are penned by noted writer Unni R., known for "Big B", "Chappa Kurish", "Munnariyippu", and "Charlie". Editing is by acclaimed Malayalam editor Shameer Muhammed.
