Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran film-serial actress Kanakalatha, aged 63, who captivated South Indian audiences with her performances in over 350 films, passed away on Monday at her residence here. She had been battling Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

Kanakalatha began displaying symptoms of Parkinson’s and dementia in December 2021.

Some of her notable films include Chillu, Kariyilakkattu Pole, and Rajavinte Makan. Her latest release was the Malayalam movie Pookkalam.
