Thrissur: Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal, the 27th production by Goodwill Entertainments, has brought new excitement for its producer, Joby George. In a recent interview with Mathrubhumi, Joby spoke about his deep admiration for Mammootty, describing the veteran actor as a "cultural phenomenon" and highlighting their close relationship.

“Mammukka, for me, will always be a cultural phenomenon. He is a very kind-hearted person. Every time he and I have collaborated, we’ve succeeded,” Joby shared. “Apart from my family, he’s the one person who, even if he threw a stone at me, I wouldn’t complain or feel bad about it. I’m forever in debt to him,” he added.

Reflecting on his aspirations for a national or a state award, he said that he took Kishkindha Kaandam with a sole vision of getting a national or a state award. He said, “Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal is the 27th cinema of Goodwill Entertainments, but to date we have not even won a television award. So we set our mind that now we have to win a state award or a national award. Let’s try our luck, and that led us straight to Kishkindha Kaandam”. 

The movie also opened doors for Joby at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). “That film took me to my first-ever IFFK and even earned prize money there,” he stated.

On the response to Kishkindha Kaandam, Joby expressed optimism. “No one has said anything negative about it so far, which is encouraging. I hope people continue to speak positively about it (Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal),” he concluded.

Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal was originally scheduled to hit theatres on January 16 but will now release on February 07. 

The film features Joju George, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Alencier Lopez as the titular brothers, with an ensemble cast including Thomas Mathew, Gargi Ananthan, Shelly N. Kumar, Sajitha Madathil, and Sarasa Balussery in pivotal roles. 

Directed by Saran Venugopal, the movie is set to explore the bond between brothers and the mysterious events that shake their family after a life-changing incident.
