SIFEA accused the editor of repeatedly engaging non-union assistants across projects, including Jana Nayagan, which it said was in violation of established association rules. The body added that such practices undermine professional standards within the industry.
On the issue of the film’s piracy leak, the association clarified that while Raghav may not have directly caused the online release, he has admitted to negligence that contributed to the breach. The incident has raised concerns about security protocols in film production workflows.
SIFEA emphasised that it has a responsibility to prevent such incidents in the future and protect the integrity of the film industry. It warned that repeated violations could pose risks to the functioning of unionised film production systems.
The association also announced that Raghav’s suspension takes immediate effect, and during this period, he will not receive any cooperation or support from SIFEA. It has further urged other film industry unions to extend support for the disciplinary action.
Raghav, known for his work in several prominent Tamil films, now faces professional restrictions as the association continues to stress stricter enforcement of anti-piracy and labour compliance rules within the industry.
