Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, famous for hits like "Brown Rang," "Blue Eyes," and "Angrezi Beat," emphasized that courage is the driving force behind everything he does in life.
Speaking to the media in Abu Dhabi during the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA), the rapper said, "Courage is needed to do everything in life. I come from a very small place called Karampura in New Delhi. Today, I’m here at IIFA, a global event. What brings me back is courage.”
Honey Singh, once a dominant figure in the mainstream music industry during the early 2010s, contributed to numerous Bollywood albums and even appeared in films. However, he faced a significant setback after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and retreated from the public eye. Thanks to medical treatment and the unwavering support of his loved ones, Honey made a powerful comeback. By "courage," he referred to overcoming personal struggles and reclaiming his place in the music scene.
When asked about the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) in music and the arts, Honey Singh expressed excitement over the blend of technology and creativity. He shared, "AI in music is incredible. There's a guy from Delhi, Anshuman Sharma, who recreated Mohammed Rafi's voice and an A R Rahman composition using AI. When I heard it, I thought, 'This is amazing.' But, like anything else -- be it AI, music, or even partying -- excess is harmful."
The rapper also spoke about Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, who is making waves internationally. "What Diljit has accomplished, a Sikh boy making it big on the international stage, is extraordinary. His courage, talent, and passion shine through in his work, and he hasn’t changed at all. He’s still the same Diljit I worked with on 'The Next Level' album years ago," Honey Singh said.
