In a recent interview, Mohini spoke about her battle with depression and struggles in life.

Actor Mohini, once a popular star in South Indian cinema, has spoken candidly about her struggles with depression and suicide attempts in a recent interview with Cinema Vikatan.
Mohini starred alongside several South Indian superstars before stepping away from the industry. She last appeared in a film in 2011, though many of her roles remain fondly remembered by fans.
Mohini married in 1991 at the age of 23, when her career was at its peak, and later settled in the United States. She continued to act in a handful of films but said her personal life soon took a darker turn.
“After marriage, I was leading a happy family life with my husband and children. But at one point, I realised I was falling into depression. There was nothing wrong with my life. Yet I became depressed. At one point, I even tried to commit suicide, not once, but seven times,” she revealed.
She recalled meeting an astrologer during that period. “At that time, an astrologer told me that someone had cast a spell on me. At first, I laughed it off. But later, I wondered why I had even dared to commit suicide,” she said.
Mohini added that her turning point came through faith. “It was only after that realisation that I started trying to come out of it. It was my Jesus who really gave me strength,” she said.
