Veteran Malayalam actor Mammootty has expressed his heartfelt gratitude after being honoured with the Best Actor award at the Kerala State Film Awards. The actor, who won the award for his powerful performance in Bramayugam, shared his reaction through a social media post, extending thanks to his team and congratulating all fellow award winners.

In his post, Mammootty wrote:

Heartfelt congrats to Shamla Hamza, Asif, Tovino, Soubin, Sidharth, Jyothirmayi, Lijo Mol, Darshana, Chidambaram, and the entire teams of Manjummel Boys, Bougainvillea, Premalu and all other winners of the Kerala State Awards.

A big thanks to the entire team of #Bramayugam for gifting me such a memorable outing. Humbly dedicating this accolade to the audience who embraced Kodumon Potti with so much love.

The award jury commended Mammootty for his “intense and nuanced portrayal of the brutal essence of power by embodying two contrasting characters – Kodumon Potti and Chathan – within a single persona. Setting aside his stardom and image, the actor transformed his body into a tool for artistic experimentation, achieving exceptional perfection in a negative role.”

Bramayugam, written and directed by Rahul Sadasivan, marks yet another milestone in Mammootty’s illustrious career. Known for his visually rich storytelling in films like Red Rain and Bhoothakaalam, Rahul helmed Bramayugam with Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz in key roles.

Interestingly, Sidharth Bharathan also received the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in the same film, further cementing Bramayugam’s artistic success at this year’s Kerala State Film Awards.
