The long-anticipated ‘Housefull 5’ has finally landed in cinemas, and early reactions from audiences on social media suggest it may live up to its hype. On Friday, users on X began posting their initial thoughts on the film, with many applauding Akshay Kumar’s performance. Several fans highlighted his impeccable comic timing, calling it the highlight of the latest instalment in the popular franchise.

Taking the franchise in a new direction, ‘Housefull 5’ blends comedy with mystery in a story set aboard a luxurious cruise ship. The film introduces a never-before-seen twist in Indian mainstream cinema—two completely different climaxes. In what producer Sajid Nadiadwala calls a 30-year-old dream finally realised, ‘Housefull 5’ will screen with alternate endings depending on the theatre and screen.

“I have been thinking about this idea for the past 30 years – how to create a thriller with an X factor that leaves the audience talking long after they leave the theatre. So I came up with a story where every theatre will have a different killer. So if you watch it at Gaiety, it'll have one killer. If you watch it at Galaxy, there'll be somebody else. In PVR screen number 4, you'll see a different killer, and in PVR screen number 5, yet another one. It's like every time you watch the film, you'll get a different ending,” Nadiadwala revealed during the trailer launch.

One user on X wrote, “First half of housefull 5 brilliant mind blowing.”

Another wrote, “A Madcap entertainer that gets you giggling, yelling, whistling and applauding in your seat.”

"Film starts well and delivers what it promises — entertainment, suspense, and a bit of chaos,” another X user posted.

Titled ‘Housefull 5A’ and ‘Housefull 5B,’ the two versions promise audiences a completely different experience with each watch, encouraging repeat viewings and driving curiosity.

The ensemble cast is one of the film’s biggest draws, with a lineup that includes Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Shreyas Talpade, Fardeen Khan, Johnny Lever, Ranjeet, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Sonam Bajwa, among others.

Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and co-written with Farhad Samji, the film revolves around a murder mystery on a cruise ship, where a billionaire dies under suspicious circumstances, prompting fellow passengers to hunt for the killer amidst a flurry of comedic confusion.

Backed by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film arrives nearly six years after ‘Housefull 4’—which became the highest-grossing film in the franchise with global earnings of Rs 296 crore. The entire ‘Housefull’ series has amassed over Rs 788 crore worldwide, cementing its place as one of Bollywood’s most successful comedy franchises.
