In a shocking turn of events, all morning shows were abruptly cancelled due to legal chaos that has engulfed the film. According to multiple media reports, the morning shows before 10 AM in Cinepolis and PVR theaters were cancelled on Thursday morning, amidst a legal battle between the television network B4U and the film’s production house, HR Pictures. The shows were stalled after B4U approached the Delhi High Court against the film’s theatrical release. The Delhi HC, therefore, put an interim stay on the film’s release until 10.30 AM on Thursday, which led to the cancellation of all morning shows. Not only in India, but Veera Dheera Sooran's premiere shows in the United States of America were also cancelled due to the ongoing legal battle, said reports.

Furthermore, reports claimed that the film’s producer was asked to deposit a sum of Rs. 7 crore along with all documents related to the case within 48 hours by the HC.

As per media reports, the television network has alleged that the makers of Veera Dheera Sooran were to give the OTT rights of the film before it’s theatrical release. Failing to honour the alleged contract, B4U demanded a compensation from Veera Dheera Sooran producer, Riya Shibu.

When is Veera Dheera Sooran releasing?

As per a report in News18, the release of the Vikram starrer has been stalled by at least four weeks. However, as of now, there is no official word from the production house on the film’s new release date. Meanwhile, B4U also reportedly claimed that it had served a legal notice to the production house before the film’s release.

Starring Vikran in the lead, Veera Dheera Sooran, styled as Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, is an action-packed Tamil thriller directed by SU Arun Kumar. The film also marks the Tamil debut of Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film’s story revolves around a provision store owner ‘Kaali’, who is involved in a dangerous crime network. Veera Dheera Sooran marks the 62nd film of Vikram, and will be followed by a prequel, titled Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 1. The prequel is expected to go into production soon.
