Actress Asha Sharath has come forward to defend actor Siddique, who is currently facing sexual harassment allegations.

In a Facebook post, Asha Sharath stated that the rumours circulating about Siddique are false and baseless. She described Siddique as a close friend and a respected colleague in the film industry.

"I am writing this because my name has been mentioned in connection with the ongoing discussions about issues in the film industry. I want to set the record straight. Some people have suggested that Siddique behaved inappropriately with me during the shooting of the movie 'Drishyam'. This is absolutely untrue. Siddique has always been a good friend and a professional colleague," she wrote.

She also pointed that she has never experienced any inappropriate behaviour from Siddique, urging people not to spread false information.

"I request those involved to stop spreading false propaganda. My hope is that the Malayalam film industry continues to grow as a close-knit community and becomes a model for others to follow," she added.

Asha also stated that if the allegations against actors are proven to be true, they should face appropriate consequences. At the same time, she stressed that those responsible for spreading false rumours should also be held accountable and strict actions should be taken against them. 

She concluded her post by expressing her desire for a peaceful and safe environment for all artists, hoping that the government and art lovers will work together to achieve this.
