Netflix has appointed Mohammed Adnan as its new Manager of Documentary Series in the U.S., adding an experienced documentary producer to its growing nonfiction team.
Adnan is best known for serving as a development producer on ‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts’, the HBO Max reunion special that reunited the beloved cast and filmmakers behind the iconic wizarding franchise.
Before joining Netflix, Adnan was Vice President of Development at Story Films, where he worked on acclaimed factual projects. His previous experience also includes leadership roles at October Films and Pulse Films.
Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Adnan said he is excited to work alongside some of the industry's best storytellers at a company that has moved the documentary landscape. He added that joining Netflix fulfills a long-held ambition of moving from creating documentaries to helping commission them.
At Netflix, Adnan will work with the platform's documentary commissioning team, helping develop and oversee future documentary series. The streamer has recently expanded its nonfiction slate with several high-profile titles, making the appointment another notable step in strengthening its documentary division.
With Adnan now on board, viewers can expect Netflix to continue pursuing ambitious documentary projects backed by experienced creative talent from across the industry.
