Social media influencer Hansika Krishna has become the centre of an online storm after an alleged video linked to her began circulating widely across platforms. The clip, shared by users on X and other sites, sparked intense debate over whether the content was taken from her Instagram subscription service and leaked without authorisation.

The 20-year-old, who is the youngest daughter of actor and politician Krishnakumar, has not yet responded publicly to the controversy. Discussions around the video intensified rapidly, with both criticism and speculation dominating the online conversation.

Who is Hansika Krishna?

Hansika Krishna has built much of her public identity through social media, although she comes from a family already familiar to Malayalam audiences. Her sisters — Ahaana Krishna and Ishaani Krishna — are active in the film industry, while she has concentrated on creating Instagram reels, dance videos and lifestyle content aimed at younger viewers. Another sister, Diya Krishna has made her mark as an influencer and entrepreneur. Hansika currently has more than 1.6 million followers on Instagram.

The video at the centre of the controversy was reportedly not available on her public pages. Online speculation suggested it may have first appeared on her paid subscription tier before being shared elsewhere, though there has been no official confirmation regarding its origin or authenticity.

Debate over subscription pricing

As the video spread, some users criticised Hansika, alleging that the clip may have been circulated deliberately to draw attention and boost subscription numbers. Others pointed to claims that her Instagram subscription price had risen from ₹299 to ₹390 around the same time.

According to online chatter, Hansika’s exclusive subscriber count rose sharply following the viral spread, reaching an estimated 1,800 subscribers. However, none of these claims have been verified, and neither Hansika nor her family has addressed the issue publicly as of 8 May.

Questions raised over AI and deepfake possibilities

A separate section of users questioned whether the circulating clip may have been altered or artificially generated. Some suggested that the content could be a deepfake, urging caution before drawing conclusions.

No technical evaluation confirming or disproving this theory has been made available so far.

Acting debut

Hansika is also preparing to enter mainstream cinema. She is set to star opposite Naslen in the upcoming Malayalam film ‘Bachelor Party 2 D'eux’, marking one of her first major acting commitments.

Meanwhile, her father Krishnakumar, known for his long career in Malayalam television and cinema, was appointed Chairman and Director of the National Film Development Corporation of India in April 2026, keeping him active in public life at a time when attention on the family has intensified.
