Flipkart clearly wants its Big Billion Days (BBD) 2025 campaign to be remembered and it’s going big, really big.

The Walmart-owned platform has brought together a whopping 11 celebrities in one single campaign, making it one of the most star-studded ads ever seen during India’s festive season.

The lineup reads like a red-carpet guest list: Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Sreeleela, Mahesh Bhatt, Farah Khan, celebrity chef Dilip, boAt co-founder Aman Gupta, Jannat Zubair, Sakshi Shivdasani, viral music creator Yashraj Mukhate, and child influencer Arista Mehta.

What’s the big idea behind this campaign?

The integrated campaign, made by Leo Burnett, is built on the idea of shopping feeling like “magic.” Pratik Shetty, Vice President, Growth & Marketing at Flipkart, explained, “Consumers felt a sense of magic during past Big Billion Days. Our focus this year was: how do we recreate that delight across every touchpoint? The insight was simple – when you buy something new, you anticipate people noticing and reacting. We built on that thought and decided to elevate it through this campaign. Usually, we use celebrities to talk deals; this time, we wanted them to create magic.”

Instead of just pushing discounts, the films show BBD as a fantastical world where “anything can happen.”

The platform first released the main video on digital and connected TV, and will later push shorter edits on television. The campaign will also run across print, digital radio, and social media. While the film is mainly designed for digital and CTV audiences, Flipkart says there will also be 22-second TV spots that highlight offers and categories.

What happens in the ad?

The story begins with Arista Mehta in her office, showing off her BBD purchases. Later, she attends a glitzy event with her friends, enjoying VVIP treatment. Trying to escape the paparazzi, she steps into a lift and bumps into Alia Bhatt, dressed in black. Alia notices Arista’s phone cover is identical to hers. Seconds later, Amitabh Bachchan walks in, also holding the same phone cover. Spotting the coincidence, Arista jokes, “AB, AB – 2AB,” leaving both Alia and Big B laughing.

Inside the venue, Jannat Zubair and Sakshi Shivdasani can be seen wondering aloud if Arista might actually be a star kid. Soon after, comedian Bassi makes an appearance serving food, while Arista finds Yashraj Mukhate at the console, with actress Sreeleela dancing to his music. The ad closes with Alia driving Arista off in her luxury car.

How did fans react?

Fans couldn’t stop talking about the ad. One viewer wrote, “Pure madness. Too good, guys.” Another said, “This ad stole my heart. AB plus AB (fire emoji).”

Some were curious about how much money was poured into the production.

One asked, “Iss ad ka budget kya hoga? (What must the budget of this ad be?).” And one cheeky fan summed it up perfectly “Love when brands forget about budgets.”
