Cinema is no more beyond the reach of the common man, proves the story of these five writers who are making their film debut with ‘Padachonte Kadhakal’ alias ‘God’s tales’.
For Melbin Francis, Sebin Bose, Akshara Shinu, Akhil G Babu and Jwalamukhi, the movie gives them recognition as writers. Moreover, these writers who are leading an ordinary life are not backed by any forces of nepotism, politics or a casting couch. 

‘Padachonte Kadhakal’ alias ‘God’s tales’ is an anthology of four stories which discuss the concept of God and how it influences different lives. 

'Undampori Viplavam' 

'Undampori Viplavam' in the anthology is written by Melbin Francis, a fisherman. The movie narrates about the superstitions, godmen and hypocrisy in the society of believers. Melbin, who hails from Alappuzha used to write stories during his free time after going fishing every day. The short film directed by Dhanesh MK will feature 'Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum' actor Shivadas Kannur, Shiny Sahra and Sathyanarayanamurthy in lead roles.

‘Anthony’

‘Why God needs money?’, this thought influenced Sebin to pen the story of ‘Anthony’ in the anthology. This movie is a combination of two short stories, ‘Kettezhuthu’ by Akshara and ‘Eeswarante Papam’ by Sebin. Sebin Bose runs a medical store in Idukki district in Kerala.Akshara Shinu, a Thrissur native is a librarian in the UAE. "In a country where communalism, superstitions and bigotry reign supreme despite education, the subject of God is not meant to divide hearts. This thought influenced me to write this story." said Akshara.

The plot of the film directed by Jinto Thomas is a crisis faced by a 12-year-old boy named Anthony who is struggling to make his family’s ends meet. Master DaVinci Satheesh, Nisha Sarang and director Jeo Baby will be seen in the lead roles in the movie. 

‘Gauri'

Jwalamukhi, a housewife in Thiruvananthapuram is a promising writer in the modern film industry. The story is about little Gauri who wishes to have a pair of anklets for her birthday and visits a sacred grove to pray for the anklets and for her family. But what she encountered there shook her concept of God.

The movie directed by Aju Sajan will feature actors Sudheesh Sudhakaran, Neena Kurup and Baby Lakshya in the main roles.

'Arulappad' 

While writing and directing the short film ‘Arulapad’, Akhil G Babu, a debutant director, was also handling the heavy task of being the creative director of 'Padachonte Kadhakal’. 

‘Arulappad’ is about the beliefs, experiences and helplessness of a Theyyam artiste. ‘Uppum Mulukum’ fame Biju Sopanam, ‘Minnal Murali’ actress Shelly Kishore, Baiju VK and Kabani Haridas played the lead roles in the film.
