Kochi: The first video song from Vineeth Sreenivasan’s highly anticipated action thriller Karam has been released, further building excitement ahead of the film’s worldwide release on 25 September.

Titled ‘Welcome to Lenarco’, the song begins with the evocative line “Vazhideepameriyunna Naalachuvappin Niram...”, and features Noble Babu Thomas and Reshma Sebastian in the lead. The lyrics, penned by Anu Elizabeth Jose, are set to music by Shaan Rahman, and beautifully rendered by K.S. Harisankar, Isabel George, Megisha Rajdev, Annett Xavier, and Arundhathi P. The visuals offer a cinematic experience that blends intrigue with artistic flair.

Known for his heartfelt dramas like Hridayam and Thattathin Marayathu, Vineeth Sreenivasan appears to be taking a bold leap into the action-thriller genre with Karam. The recently released trailer showcases high-octane action, suspenseful sequences, and striking visuals, indicating a clear shift from his usual narrative style.

Karam marks the reunion of Vineeth and producer Visakh Subramaniam under the Merryland Cinemas and Habit of Life banners, following their successful collaborations on Hridayam and Varshangalkku Shesham. The film is also Vineeth’s first thriller since Thira and his return as a producer after acclaimed titles like Aanandam and Helen. Noble Babu Thomas, who plays the lead, also serves as the screenwriter.

In a symbolic move, Karam is being released during the 70th anniversary of Merryland Cinemas’ classic crime thriller CID (1955), widely regarded as Malayalam cinema's first crime thriller.

Shot extensively across Georgia, including the borders of Russia and Azerbaijan, the film boasts high production values and sweeping visuals. The team spent nearly a year in pre-production and location scouting starting in April 2024. Additional shooting schedules were held in Shimla, Chandigarh, and Kochi.

The cast also features Audrey Miriam, Manoj K. Jayan, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Baburaj, Vishnu G. Warrier, and Johny Antony.
