Honouring late actor Innocent, his family inscribed the images of the artiste’s popular roles on his grave. The idea is the brainchild of the actor’s grandchildren Junior Innocent and Anna.
The images of a total of 30 characters immortalised by Innocent are engraved on the tomb. These are from the movies ‘Ravanaprabhu’, ‘Manichitrathazhu’, ‘Ishtam’, ‘Oru Indian Pranayakadha’, ‘Kabooliwala’, ‘Devasuram’, ‘Mannar Mathai Speaking’, ‘Paappi Appacha’, ‘Mithunam’, ‘Vietnam Colony’, ‘Kalyanaraman’, ‘Godfather’ among others.
Further details, including names, are inscribed in the form of a movie reel on the grave. Meanwhile, the actor’s family and friends gathered at the grave and offered special prayers on the seventh day of the actor’s death.
Innocent, who mesmerised Malayalees with his raw humour and character roles, was laid to rest at the cemetery in St Thomas Cathedral in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur. He passed away on March 26, while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi.
