Vallikkunnu: The heartwarming tale of Fathima and Ashraf, a family from Ponnani, is making its way to the global cinema stage with Feminichi Fathima. The film has been selected for the competitive section at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), which will be held in Thiruvananthapuram from December 13 to 20.

The film, which portrays the extraordinary charm of a typical family from Ponnani, has been directed and written by Fasil Muhammed Edappal, a filmmaker from Malappuram. It is one of only two Malayalam films chosen for the competition category at the festival.

Produced by Sudheesh Scariah and Tamir under the banner of AFD Cinema, the film features Kumar Sunil, a well-known actor from Vallikkunnu, in the lead role. The film’s heroine is Shamla Hamza, who gained recognition for her role in 1001 Nunakal. Shamla, originally from Thrithala, now resides in Dubai.

Kumar Sunil, with over 25 years of experience in the theatre and film industry, has been a part of numerous Malayalam films including Asangadithar, Kaathal, Antony, Maradona, Odiyan, and Vellari Pattanam. His impressive career in both theatre and film adds to the film’s appeal, making Feminichi Fathima a much-anticipated release.
