Kochi: Actor Bala was arrested on Monday morning following a complaint filed by his ex-wife for harassment towards her and their child. Following his arrest, the complainant came forward stating that she remained silent on the matter to protect her daughter from the issue.

"It was a problem that haunted both me and my daughter for many years. I faced unspeakable physical and mental torture continuously. I left that house when it began to affect her (my daughter). Even after the divorce, when we hoped to live in peace, he continued to follow us. We faced severe harassment on social media, and even going to school became troublesome. There were constant threats, both online and offline, and at one point it became unbearable. It seriously affected my daughter," she said.

She also alleged that Bala never expressed interest in seeing their daughter. "The divorce agreement states that he would not contribute to our daughter's wedding. A Rs 15 lakh insurance policy was taken for her, but he hasn’t paid its premium. Not once has he asked to see her. The divorce case was settled for a minimal amount, yet we are accused of stealing crores. Bala has never enquired about his daughter, and nothing regarding her has been investigated. My phone calls were recorded and leaked to other channels. Bala has spoken in interviews about things he did not do or know about. The allegations of embezzling crores are false."

Earlier today, the Kadavantra police arrested actor Bala, along with his manager, based on the complaint filed by his ex-wife.
