Dr Elizabeth Udayan has responded to singer Abhirami Suresh’s recent remarks, where Abhirami claimed that she and her sister had tried to reach out and support Elizabeth. In a powerful statement, Elizabeth accused Bala’s ex-wife of approaching her when she was at her lowest and urging her to file a case against the actor.
She revealed that, in her vulnerable state, she had shared personal experiences that she never intended to make public, only to later feel betrayed when those conversations were disclosed to the media.
Elizabeth, without directly naming Abhirami or her sister Amrutha, detailed how she was contacted during a time of severe emotional distress.
“In November, when I was unwell, certain people repeatedly called me, insisting that I should file a case against him. I was in the ICU, battling depression, and under immense stress. I told them, ‘I am scared, I can’t handle this pressure anymore.’ But I foolishly fell for their tears and shared everything I had gone through. I had clearly asked them not to record our conversation, as I was not ready to speak about these things publicly. Yet, the next day, when they realised I wasn’t willing to proceed with a legal case, they leaked my call recordings and other personal details to the media.”
Elizabeth also recalled how they justified their actions under the pretense of authenticity. “They even claimed that those who need to verify the statements could get a copy of my audio recordings via Messenger. How can I ever trust these people again? How can I trust those who betrayed me when I was lying helpless in a hospital bed?”
Elizabeth accused them of distorting her experiences and presenting them in a misleading manner to the public.
“I was in an extremely fragile mental state at that time. Who should I blame for this betrayal? At this point, I see little difference between these two people and Bala himself. Earlier, I had felt deep sympathy for them. I was saddened that someone so young had to endure so much. But now, I see things clearly.”
She also expressed her disappointment in those who claimed to support her but remained silent in crucial moments.
“I know that many YouTube channels and people who once promised to stand by me will now turn away. But I refuse to let that affect me. How can I align myself with people who lack basic humanity?”
No need for celebrity support
Elizabeth emphasised that she is fighting alone, without any political backing or influence from high-profile personalities.
“I do not have party leaders or powerful figures supporting me. I am standing alone in this fight. The only people who support me are a few ordinary people on Facebook, and that is enough for me. I do not need support from the rich or from celebrities who suddenly claim they want to help. If they were truly concerned, they should have shown support long ago, rather than now, when it suits them.”
Taking a direct jab at those who betrayed her, she questioned their definition of support.
“When they say, ‘We tried to help, but she did not accept our help,’ I want to ask—does stabbing me in the back count as help?”
Despite facing threats and intimidation, Elizabeth remains steadfast in her fight for justice.
“I will do everything in my power to see this through. I am not afraid of dying. I am not afraid of being arrested. The only thing I fear is that someone else might fall into the same trap I did. That is why I continue to make videos, fully aware of the risks, knowing that cases may be filed against me. I know there’s a possibility that I will be physically attacked. I have witnessed firsthand how closely connected some people still are to him. Even if people do not support me, I ask them—at the very least—do not harm me.”
She expressed gratitude to those who have genuinely stood by her and made it clear that she does not need insincere supporters.
“There are a few honest people who truly support me, and they are more than enough. I do not need support from those who are only here for their own agendas.”
Elizabeth concluded her statement with a message to those who remain hesitant or doubtful about her fight.
“It is incredibly difficult to get support from good people. If you are hesitant, afraid, or unsure, you are free to leave—I do not need your support. My only wish is that no one else has to go through what I endured. Only those who have experienced this kind of betrayal and trauma can truly understand the pain. I am fighting alone, and I will continue to do so. I do not need anyone’s validation or backing. To those who have supported me from the heart—I sincerely thank you.”
