The trailer of Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal, has been released. The trailer was unveiled through the official YouTube channel of Aashirvad Cinemas. The third instalment of the blockbuster thriller franchise is set to hit theatres on May 21, coinciding with Mohanlal’s birthday.

The trailer hints at a continuation of the events from the first two films, with a strong focus on the psychological journey of Georgekutty, played by Mohanlal.

Actors Sumesh Chandran, Shanthi Mayadevi and Murali Gopy, who were part of Drishyam 2, reprise their roles in the new film. Veena Nandakumar joins the franchise as a new addition.

The film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Shooting for the movie was completed in early December.

Apart from Mohanlal, the film also stars Meena, Esther Anil and Ansiba Hassan in key roles. The cinematography is by Satheesh Kurup, editing by Vinayak, and music composed by Anil Johnson.

The original Drishyam, released in 2013, is widely regarded as one of the greatest thrillers in Malayalam cinema. Audiences revisited Georgekutty and his family’s story eight years later with Drishyam 2 in 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the sequel was released directly on OTT platforms, where it received overwhelming appreciation from viewers. Many fans believe the film would have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark had it received a theatrical release.
