Mumbai: It wasn’t just the trailer of Thamma that set the room on fire, it was also a surprise declaration of love from a fan that left actress Shraddha Kapoor blushing, giggling, and channelling her iconic father’s punchlines.

At the glamorous trailer launch, as Shraddha addressed the audience, a fan loudly shouted, “I love you, Shraddha!” — catching everyone, including the actress, off guard. Flashing a playful smile, she replied with mock seriousness, “Acha, itni openly? Pata hai na mere papa kaun hai?” (“Oh, this openly? You do know who my father is, right?”)

The crowd erupted in cheers and whistles, a reference to her father, veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, known for his comic-villain roles and iconic one-liners. But the exchange didn’t stop there.

Later, while speaking about how "In everyone’s life, the most important person is their mom", the fan responded, “Mere liye aap ho.” (“For me, it’s you.”)

Shraddha, clearly amused, laughed and decided to play along, quoting her father’s legendary line, “Aankhein nikal ke gotiyan khelta hoon.” (“I’ll take your eyes out and play marbles with them.”)

The fan cheekily replied, “Even without my eyes, I’ll still see you,” earning applause from the audience and an impressed smile from the actress.

Red-hot in Masaba: Shraddha’s striking saree moment

While her witty banter made headlines, Shraddha's fashion game also made a statement. Dressed in a stunning red Manhattan Cocktail Saree by designer Masaba Gupta, the actress perfectly blended traditional elegance with modern-day sass.

Valued at ₹75,000, the saree featured delicate ruching, a fluid trail, and an embroidered pallu with Masaba’s signature motifs. A full-sleeved embroidered bustier adorned with foliage patterns and the label’s mascot, styled with a mesh bolero with thumbholes, adding a bold twist to the classic drape.
